Holiday Schedules

Please note that our offices will be closed from December 24 to January 4, inclusive.

During this period, we will operate an emergency service. For urgent transactions or those with a tax impact for the year 2025, this service will be available on December 29 and 30.

We strongly recommend finalizing all your requests for the year 2025 before December 17.

Little Guide to Avoid Delays for Your 2025 Contributions

To have your contributions count for the 2025 tax year, remember this simple rule: the RRSP allows extensions, while all others stop at midnight on December 31!

For your RRSP, you have until early March 2026 for contributions to still be applied to your 2025 income.

For the TFSA, the FHSA, RESP, and RDSP, the calendar decides: any contribution made by December 31, 2025, will count for the 2025 year. Consider setting a reminder before the holidays to “pay your future self”.

Market review

Over the past two months, stock markets have continued their upward trajectory, driven primarily by large technology companies and growth stocks, while smaller capitalization stocks struggle to keep pace. Inflation continues to approach central banks’ targets, reassuring investors and supporting the notion that rate cuts could continue gradually. Despite some concerns about valuations, particularly in AI-related sectors, quarterly results from major U.S. companies have widely exceeded expectations, bolstering market confidence.

In the bond sector, the easing of long-term rates allowed fixed income markets to post positive returns, especially in high-quality credit bonds. Mutual funds performed well overall, notably balanced funds and those focused on global markets.
